SAVTE work with many community based organisations across Sheffield to deliver informal English practice groups such as conversation groups, either exclusively for their clients or for the local community.
If you have a group of ESOL learners that would benefit from a group please do not hesitate to contact us.
- Family Voice, Netheredge and Sharrow – Family Voice love working with SAVTE! We totally trust the quality of their work and provision. They work flexibly according to need and we collaborate very successfully. Together with SAVTE we have recently been able to support over 50 local adults to build their confidence in learning English. – Kate West, Family Voice Sheffield C.I.C.
- Shelter – SAVTE has been working in partnership with Shelter for five years, offering weekly English conversation classes to our housing support clients. Sessions are focused around housing and include getting to know Sheffield and your local area, how to make telephone calls to agencies such as the council, health services and utility suppliers and understanding everyday language and phrases. Clients find the sessions invaluable, friendly and very practical. The SAVTE partnership enables Shelter clients to build their confidence in a safe and welcoming environment before finding local ESOL classes that they can access on a longer-term basis. – Alison Stanley
- The Vine Sheffield. – “It is a joy to be working with SAVTE to welcome and support those in our community, who otherwise would not be accessing English language learning. We have been impressed with the level of skill displayed by the teacher and the warm, nurturing environment she offers. We are therefore very pleased to have secured funding so we can continue to welcome this community to be at home in our building.” Lucy Bolster, Curate; The Vine Sheffield.
