I came to the UK from Germany almost 30 years ago and have ever since lived and worked in and around Sheffield. When I felt it is time to give something back to Sheffield, the people, and the city which welcomed me, SAVTE caught my interest. The approach of combining language training with community integration and cultural awareness is quite unique, something I experienced first-hand when I first came to the UK and something I want to support. In 2022 I decided to become a Trustee of SAVTE.
I work as an engineer in industry, love numbers, and am fascinated by the things we make. When not at work, I have a passion for languages, discovering Italy, and walking and cycling.
