I’ve been in IT all of my working life and most recently headed a team using IT to support learning and teaching at Sheffield University. On-line learning has become incredibly important in 2020 and I hope I can help SAVTE build on the excellent work they’ve done already moving learning on-line.
I’ve been a trustee of a small water NGO for many years but when I retired at the end of 2019, I was very keen to get involved in a local charity in Sheffield as well. I’ve been aware of SAVTE for many years and am delighted at the opportunity to be a part of it.
SAVTE’s commitment to supporting asylum seekers and refugees and the importance of language in breaking down barriers really resonates with me so SAVTE is a perfect fit.
