ESOL Tutor
I have been a language teacher of French and English for over 30 years. My happy place is to be in a room with speakers of lots of different languages, all sharing our languages and cultures, making friends, eating food treats, and having fun!
I joined SAVTE in September 2025 to continue my passion to help learners to become comfortable and confident to share their ideas and interests in English, and to build on the superpower they already have as speakers of more than one language.
In my professional career I have taught learners of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds in every type of learning environment: Universities, adult education, schools, 6th forms and colleges. What brings me joy is to see my learners progress and develop their confidence each week, and try something new in the language they are learning.
In my free time, I love to socialise with my family and friends, go hiking in the Peak District, relax at the cinema, and unwind with a good book.
