Faisal Muhrez

I have been working in education for more than twenty years; in public schools in Yemen, in a private school in Kuwait, in Ibb University, in the University of Science and Technology Ibb, and in METAdrasi school in Greece.

 

Since working in education has been my long-term career, as soon as I arrived in Sheffield I planned to join any organisation caring for this field. And I found the place where I get inspired. It’s SAVTE. For its massive impact on the Sheffield community integrating the arrivals in the community of the UK by providing ESOL sessions and classes, I realized that this is the place where I can do something for the community together with the fascinating experienced team.

 

I volunteered in SAVTE for one year ( Oct 2020 _ Oct 2021). And in Dec 2022 I was lucky to join the extraordinary team and have been adding so much to my experience.

 

Together with seeing my learners gaining progress, I enjoy playing football so much as I used to be a semi-professional footballer in Yemen, though currently, I play football less frequently. To my surprise, I figured out that Sheffield FC is the oldest football club in the world founded in 1857.
