I am thrilled to join SAVTE as a board member in 2024. Language is central to developing community, and SAVTE plays an essential role in supporting people from various backgrounds to learn English and become confident speakers.
While I lived in the Netherlands, my country of origin, I volunteered with Vluchtelingenwerk, a comparable organisation that provides language classes and language buddies for asylum seekers. Additionally, I have a PhD in English Literature from the University of Sheffield. I am passionate about language exchange, education, and research, and am delighted to be supporting SAVTE, an organisation with such a rich history.
