Volunteer & Community Development Worker, focusing on outreach in the North and North East Sheffield.
I am delighted to be starting 2023 in my new role at SAVTE.
For the past 5 years, I have been working as a Secondary School English Teacher and I have loved inspiring and motivating young people to reach their potential. I previously worked for 15 years in community development roles for the local authority and got to know the many diverse communities across Sheffield. I can’t wait to get back out there in communities, meet people and develop provisions in the city. I want to use my combined experience to support people in improving their English and ultimately improve their quality of life, ensuring our provision meets the needs of our participants and volunteers.
In my spare time, I am a keen and enthusiastic swimmer and a slow but determined runner. I love exploring new places, trying different food, and discovering unique hidden gems to visit. I spend a lot of my free time going to see live music, watching films and going to the theatre.
