I have a background in public health research and lecturing in the university sector, in Sheffield and elsewhere. I also work with public, voluntary and third sector organisations to support the use of qualitative data and research in their work.

A key area of my recent research is community engagement and empowerment, and how to understand the impacts of these processes on health, wellbeing and inequalities. I’m also passionate about teaching and exploring new ways to help people learn.

I’m keen to apply my public health and research knowledge to support the work of SAVTE and the use of language learning to build connections, capacity and wellbeing among marginalised communities.
